Marvel Illustrated is a wonderful idea. They are taking very classic literature and creating a comics version. I'm not sure that these comics will get comics readers to read the books themselves, but it may cause them to read other books by the same authors. So far the line includes: LAST OF THE MOHICANS (which I don't have), TREASURE ISLAND, THE ILIAD, THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY and Mobie Dick.

It's only the 1st of 8 issues and I'm very curious to see how they'll translate Homer's epic poem into pictures.
